ResCare Community Living Donates $ 5,000 to Food Bank | Extra Quarter

To help fight hunger this holiday season, ResCare Community Living of Nebraska / Community Alternatives Nebraska is donating $ 5,000 to the Food Bank of Lincoln. ResCare employees will also volunteer at the Lincoln Food Bank to distribute meals and food items to those in need.

As communities across the United States continue to face challenges from rising food prices, supply chain issues, and unemployment, food banks have become even more necessary.

ResCare provides much-needed care and services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in Nebraska.

“We are happy to be able to help our community by supporting the Food Bank of Lincoln,” said Travis Jacobs, executive director of ResCare Community Living in Nebraska. “They are doing great things every day to make sure that so many people get meals. We cannot thank them enough for their continued efforts and commitment to ending hunger in and around Lincoln.

“The Lincoln Food Bank is grateful for ResCare Community Living’s commitment to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” said Michaella Kumke, President and CEO of Lincoln Food Bank. “We share ResCare’s service standard with dignity. We are grateful for their generous donation of $ 5,000, which will help us scale up our response to hunger and ensure that all neighbors, regardless of their abilities, facing hunger and food insecurity, will have access to essential foods they need to thrive. “
