Sarah Pelletier elected to the Catholic school board

The new council trustee is following in the footsteps of her late father, Phil, a longtime trustee.

THUNDER BAY – Sarah Pelletier has been elected to the board of the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board.

The mother of three is the daughter of former trustee, the late Phil Pelletier.

“It is with great honor that I accept the role of Trustee of the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board as a representative of the Fort William First Nation and the Aboriginal peoples residing on the traditional lands of the First Nation of Fort William and attending Catholic schools in Thunder Bay, Pelletier said in a statement.

“This role was extremely important to my father and I look forward to carrying on his legacy while forging my own path – ensuring the success of all of our students.”

Catholic Council Director of Education Pino Tassone said Pelletier is a great addition to the council who will serve his constituents well.

“We are very happy to have Sarah Pelletier within the family of our board of directors. With Sarah following the legacy of her father, Phil Pelletier, it is indeed honourable, meaningful, and certainly commendable for all of us at Thunder Bay Catholic. I know Phil would be so proud.
